Swim with Whale Sharks

Once you are on tour, you should never try to touch a Ningaloo reef whale shark no matter how enthusiastic you are. They are endangered species and hence they run the risk of contamination from any form of human touch.

However, if you wish to feed them, you can do so during the boat ride. The boat rides allow a maximum of 10 people. So, if you wish to register for a batch of more than 10 people, you have to arrive on location a day earlier to let the organizers make the necessary arrangements.

Whale sharks are found in warm temperate and tropical seas. They prefer warm water with temperature ranging between 21 degrees to 30 degrees Celsius. Every spring, this breed of fish migrates to the continental shelf of the central west coast of Australia. The Ningaloo Reef in this area is abundant in plankton and coral spawn thereby making it a favorable destination for whale sharks.

One of the most exciting things to do is the whale shark swim and camping during holiday. However, if you prefer to bring your own equipments, you can. If you’d rather observe the sharks from a safe distance, you can always rent a boat and take personal pictures while your boat encircles them. Fresh snacks like fruits, juices and sandwiches would be provided when you are on water. Once you come to the shore, you would be treated with a range of gourmet cuisines and sea foods.
